Tasting notes

Nose

Aromas of sweet molasses and dried figs, mingled with malted bread, sultanas and baking spices.

Palate

Layers of fruitcake and banana bread, followed by marzipan-filled dates, toasted walnuts and Smyrna raisins, with hints of clove and cinnamon.

FInish

Comforting notes of Danish pastries, cocoa powder and syrupy pudding, fading to a woody warmth and a subtle hint of tobacco.

The Tomintoul distillery

The Tomintoul distillery was built in 1965 and acquired by Angus Dundee in 2000. Located in the Speyside region, Tomintoul is the fruit of the pure water of the Ballantruan spring and the fresh air of the Cairngorms National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The distillery is named after the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Scottish Highlands.
