Bourbon

The American whiskey par excellence is the Kentucky bourbon, made essentially from corn. Tennessee whiskey is internationally renowned and its charcoal filtration process gives it a drier and slightly smoky taste. There is also rye whiskey, the ancestor of bourbon, distilled from rye.
