SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
Spey River
Water, wood and whisky have long been at the heart of life along the River Spey. For generations, the Spey's bravest men, knowing every inch and eddy of the perilous river, worked as “timmer floaters”, expertly guiding huge wooden rafts along its swift waters. Along the way, they would stop off at local distilleries to provide wood to fuel the stills and turn it into casks, often pausing for a bite to eat before continuing their journey to the ports of Speyside. The floating cargo was used to build huge wooden ships that would carry Scotland's finest whiskies to the world. Spey River Whisky pays tribute to these timmer floaters and celebrates their incredible contribution to “Eau de Vie”.
