Sông Cái

SÔNG CÁI SPICED ROSELLE 32,5%

The highlands of Việt Nam are famous for their red basalt forest soils. This fertile soil, rich in iron from long-silent volcanoes, nurtures a wide range of plant species. Inspired by traditional Vietnamese fruit liqueurs, the ruby-coloured Spiced Roselle is reminiscent of the red soils and textiles used by the forest dwellers of the central highlands. Sông Cái is carefully distilled in small batches in direct-fire copper stills, bringing captivating flavours to life.

The name Sông Cái translates as "mother river", paying homage to the cradle of Vietnamese civilisation (a universal concept in Việt Nam) as well as to the typically Vietnamese spiritual relationship with the land: all elements come from nature and are interwoven with it.

Sông Cái Distillery

For the Vietnamese, nature is not just about water, land and sky, but also about culture and spirituality. Rooted in this all-encompassing philosophy, Sông Cái Distillery produces terroir-driven spirits that capture the flavours and provenance of the vast, biodiverse landscape of the highlands and deltas of Việt Nam. Sông Cái's spirits are distilled in hand-hammered direct-fire copper stills, a traditional technique that captures flavours and aromas authentically.
