Learn more
This "Kuju Newborn" is the first product of the Kuju distillery and has been bottled by hand by the entire staff. Although the ageing period is only 7 months, all the casks in the ageing warehouse are carefully selected and vatted so that consumers can experience the "present and future" of the Kuju distillery. All selected products are unpeated and aged in oak bourbon casks. Many people have the impression that on the island of Kyushu it is hot, but the average temperature is relatively low at Kuju because the altitude of the distillery is about 580m or more. Therefore, the ageing process seems to progress very slowly. We hope you will enjoy this cask while thinking about how it will mature and become a "Japanese single malt whisky".
Kuju Distillery
Located almost in the centre of Kyushu, at an altitude of about 600 m, the Kuju distillery is surrounded by the cool climate and beautiful nature of the Kuju plateau. This land is blessed with clean air and abundant spring water. It can be said that it is a good land for whisky making.
